In such a case, you need to check the ‘First row has column names’ option while adding the MS Excel database file. If you don’t select this option, the column names within the query builder will be assigned by default as ‘Column 01’, ‘Column 02’ etc.
After adding the MS Excel file to Visualr repository you may have a quick data preview of your MS Excel database added to the Visualr repository, by clicking on the preview button. Also, at several times you are required to skip a certain number of initial rows of the MS Excel database from being added to Visualr data repository. If so is the case, you can configure any number of rows initial rows to be skipped by specifying the same in the ‘Data Provider’ section itself.
An amazing feature being offered by Visualr is that you can directly insert the MS Excel data added to the Visualr data provider into a Microsoft SQL database. For being able to do that, you just need to use the ‘Insert to database’ feature available in the data provider section. Similarly, if you intend to insert a Microsoft Excel database file hosted online into a Microsoft SQL database, you need to locate the file from the hosting server right inside the Visualr ‘Data Provider’ section itself.
After adding the Microsoft Excel database file to the Visualr data repository, you can conveniently build queries and create formulas to further design your visual charts graphs and dashboards in a seamless and effective manner.
